We have a wealth of experience building websites and project management. Whether it be a Word Press blog or full scale application, Frequency Digital delivers projects on time and on budget.

A business that is not digitally enabled is simply not in the game. Building website is a necessity in the digital age. Internet users are no longer only viewing content from a PC or laptop. Nowadays there are mobile devices, like smart phones and tablets, which are fast becoming the preferred method of web browsing. Your content needs to work on these too and must be factored into building a website.

Your business may already have a web presence, but are you getting enough traffic? Have you considered all potential revenue streams? Is your site accessible to everyone? What about customer loyalty programs? Most important of all – does it convert to sales? All of these factors must be addressed so you may need to think about building websites from scratch if what you have doesn’t cut it in today’s competitive marketplace.

If your site is simply a brochure for your business you are not harnessing the potential of the digital landscape, and need to seriously consider building a website that fulfills the needs of your business. When building websites you have to think about reputation. How will your customers respond when they arrive?

There are many developers out there who advertise building websites for next to nothing, but will that do you business justice? Forewarned is forearmed, so we’ve decided to help by providing you with a step by step guide of what to expect when building a website for you business. This is how we do it anyway…

Building websites – initial meeting

This is the face to face meeting we have to talk about building a website based on your business requirements. We want to know anything and everything about what you do so we can advise you on the best way forward. By understanding how your business operates Frequency Digital can help you not only harness your strengths but neutralise your weaknesses, and apply that philosophy to the web. This meeting is also the opportunity to decide if we can work together. If we think we can, it’s on to the next step…

The brief

The brief stage of building a website is a collaboration between both parties – a written document detailing your website requirements based on both our initial meeting and your budget. We agree on the function, theme, various sections and basic SEO. It’s crucial we get this right because if it’s not on the brief it doesn’t go online. Both parties will agree and sign off on the brief before building a website. You can get started with our very own web design brief.

Production

Once the brief is signed off we move into the 1st stage of production – architecture. It’s here that we draw up the plans for your site, which are referred to as “wire frames”. A wire frame is a skeleton of your site (without the bells and whistles – we’ll add all that later), which will ultimately take the form of a template for each page we will publish.

These visual representations will show you how and where content and various elements fit best on the site. We also take care to ensure your site is compliant in terms of usability and accessibility web standards. Again, your sign off on these wire frames is required before proceeding any further.

Web design

Here’s where the colour comes in, and the personality of your site begins to take shape. Our designers will provide you with PDF mock ups of how the site will look and feel – with a couple of options for you to choose from. If you need a new logo (or even a complete branding strategy) we can help you out with that too.

Web development

This is where the technical team comes in to build the functionality of your site. Web developers are very analytical creatures and will build the site based on the specifications provided to them. You won’t need to have much to do with this process. You can just sit back and leave it all to us to project manage. The developer will also ensure your site is built for search engines like Google so you site will be found.

Once satisfied that the site is ready we get you invloved in the next step…

UAT (User Acceptance Testing)

This is where you test drive the site and make sure all the cylinders are firing correctly. At this stage it’s a great idea to get some of your best customers involved. Usually taking a day or two (depending on the complexity), this testing is done in a development environment over the Internet as the final quality control test.

Launch

This is the exciting bit! Once we’re all satisfied the site is ready the developer flicks the switch. In no time your site is live on the Internet and accessible to everyone.

Your new website is now live!

Post launch

OK, your site may now be live but now is the time to get your marketing plan right – we can help you with that too. In fact, there’s a lot Frequency Consulting can do to help grow your web business but there are mandatories we will make sure you’re sorted out with…

Analytics

Web stats and analytics software so you know how many people are visiting your site – for how long and how often.

Social Media

Now it’s time to get active on social networks like Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. Pushing your message out via social media pulls people back to your site where you can now convert them to buyers

SEO (Search Engine Optimisation)

How does your site attain a higher ranking in search engines like Google? SEO is very competitive and involves considerable effort but the investment is well worth it

SEM (Search Engine Marketing)

Do you need to pay to be on search engines? What keywords and phrases should you use?

As you can no doubt see, there are many components to building a website tailored to suit your business, so keep this guide handy when considering your options.

If you think Frequency Digital is best suited, we’d be happy to meet with you. This is a partnership where we continue to ensure your website is performing at its optimum level and making your business money!
